NSPN Stands with Asian and Pacific Islander Community

The murders in Atlanta this week highlight the continued and systemic problems of white supremacy and misogyny in our country. We view the deaths of Xiaojie Tan, Daoyou Feng, Soon Chung Park, Hyun Jung Grant, Yong Ae Yue, Suncha Kim, and Delaina Yuan as racially-motivated hate crimes, part of a significant increase in crimes against Asians and Pacific Islanders (API) over the past year.

The National Science Policy Network condemns white supremacy and stands in solidarity with all of our API members, the scientific community, and society at large. We encourage all members of our science policy community to check in with and support our API peers, educate ourselves on race and racism, and have honest conversations about the perpetual discrimination against all communities of color and how to make change to move towards an antiracist future. We have included links to a few resources below and would encourage all of you to share others in the comments as well.
