NSPN’s Leadership Program is a six-month, leadership development program that seeks to inspire, empower, and connect emerging leaders seeking to make a difference in the world.

What will we be doing?

  • Over six months, Leaders come together for virtual meetings to discuss how to move from ideas to action through practical tools and training.

  • Leaders meet virtually over Zoom throughout the program, engaging with trainers, subject matter experts, policy makers, and each other to deepen their leadership practice.

  • Over six months, Leaders will gain invaluable hands-on experience in leading the planning and execution our signature virtual national symposium that expands the access to education and networking to a broader group of individuals than those who can attend an in-person event.

Eligibility

  • Commit to fully participating in the entire duration of the six-month program. The Leaders Program is currently scheduled to begin the week of January 13, 2025 and conclude no later than July 1, 2025, with planned breaks throughout. Exact dates are subject to change. You must be able to attend between 8 and 12 hours of required virtual programming each month, as well as attend our in-person National Symposium, and engage in community group discussions throughout the program duration.

  • Demonstrate at least 1 year of relevant leadership experience in your issue area, volunteer service. or organizations.

  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn from and share with others in a group setting.

  • The program currently invites individuals residing in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, on tribal lands, and in United States territories to apply including, American Samoa; Guam; Northern Mariana Islands; Puerto Rico; and United States Virgin Islands.

About the Program

  • Self-nominations and applications are due by Monday, October 7 at 11:59pm ET.

  • The 2025 core program is virtual. This year's cohort will have the opportunity to meet in-person at the National Symposium.

  • Leaders will not be paid a stipend. Any costs for participating at the in-person events will be covered by NSPN.

  • Participants selected for the NSPN Leaders program incur no fees. Any costs for participating at the in-person events will be covered by NSPN.

  • Every application is carefully reviewed and additional research will be done to verify the information included. Finalists may be invited for virtual interviews. Selection decisions are currently scheduled to be sent by December.
